While flying the friendly skies for many years as a flight attendant, I dove deep into the study of exercise science and kinesiology to counter the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle. After obtaining my first certification from NASM as a personal trainer, I began working with my airline colleagues, testing out workout regimens for traveling professionals with minimal equipment (or the random tools one finds in a hotel gym). Pro tip: redeye flights are a great time to lunge down the aisle.
After hanging up my wings, I added on my ACE Group Fitness Instructor certification and began teaching at studios and fitness facilities all over San Francisco. With now over 20 certifications under my belt, I have spent the past decade coaching private clients from age 7-72, from all walks of life and levels of movement. I have taught in a plethora of group fitness settings: bodyweight conditioning for rock climbers, strength training for weekend warriors, low-impact barre classes for pre and postnatal mothers, indoor cycling for cardio junkies, and everything in between.
One of my greatest achievements has been building cross-departmental bridges among colleagues using the power of my corporate wellness bootcamps in Bay Area tech companies. Witnessing relationships transform and communication barriers fade as you share in the groans of another push-up is a humbling honor.
If you train with me or hop in a class, expect to get an effective, challenging workout with a healthy dose of laughter and tough love along the way. To get on my best side, ask for more photos of my pug, Herbie. I’m likely shoving them in your face, regardless.
